Day 1 – Arrival in Romania and Transfer to Sinaia.

We will travel north by comfortable air-conditioned motorcoach through the Prahova Valley toward the Carpathian Mountains and the elegant resort town of Sinaia. After arriving in Sinaia, guests will check in and have time to rest before gathering for a welcome dinner and an introduction to Romania and the journey ahead.

Day 2 – Peleș Castle, the Sinaia Cable Car and Brașov

After breakfast, we will visit magnificent Peleș Castle, the former summer residence of the Romanian royal family and one of the most beautiful royal residences in Europe. The visit introduces us to the story of Romania’s monarchy while revealing the castle’s spectacular reception rooms, carved woodwork, stained-glass windows, decorative arts and royal collections. We will continue to Sinaia Monastery, the historic religious complex that gave the town its name.Weather permitting, we will then take the gondola or cable car to the upper section of the Sinaia ski resort. From Cota 1,400, with the possibility of continuing to Cota 2,000, we will enjoy panoramic views across the Bucegi Mountains, the Prahova Valley and the surrounding Carpathian peaks. After descending, we will explore the center of Sinaia, including Dimitrie Ghica Park, the historic casino building and the town’s attractive resort area. Free time will be provided for coffee or a light lunch. In the afternoon, we will travel to Brasov through the mountain resort of Predeal to Brașov, one of Transylvania’s most beautiful cities.

Day 3 – Medieval Brașov and the Fortified Church of Prejmer.

Today is dedicated to discovering Brașov and its remarkable Saxon heritage. Our guided walking tour of the historic center will include: Council Square, The former Town Hall, The Black Church, Rope Street, Catherine’s Gate, Sections of the medieval fortifications and Republicii pedestrian street. There will be free time for lunch, shopping and exploring the cafés of the Old Town. In the afternoon, we will travel to the village of Prejmer to visit its impressive fortified church. Surrounded by powerful defensive walls and historic storage rooms, the complex provides a fascinating introduction to the lives of Transylvania’s Saxon communities. After dinner, guests will be invited to enjoy a relaxed evening walk along Republicii Street and Council Square. The pedestrian center offers an excellent selection of cafés, local beer, wine bars and a lively evening atmosphere.

Day 4 – Bran Castle and the Traditional Villages of the Carpathians

After breakfast, we will travel to Bran Castle, one of Romania’s best-known landmarks. The castle also has a fascinating history connected to medieval Transylvania and Queen Marie of Romania. Our visit will explore the relationship between the historical Prince Vlad the Impaler, Bram Stoker’s fictional character and the real story of Bran Castle. We will then continue into the beautiful countryside beneath the Piatra Craiului Mountains. Our route will take us through or near the traditional mountain villages: Peștera, Măgura, Moieciu de Sus abd Fundata. The area offers some of Romania’s most beautiful rural landscapes, with wooden homes, hay meadows, small farms and magnificent views of the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountain ranges. We will stop for a light lunch at a traditional restaurant in the Fundata area, overlooking the surrounding mountains.And in the late afternoon, we will continue to the mountain resort of Poiana Brașov. Traditional Romanian Dinner - Tonight, we will enjoy a special dinner at one of the region’s most renowned traditional restaurants. The menu will introduce guests to refined Romanian mountain cuisine, with suitable alternatives available for guests who prefer poultry, fish or vegetarian dishes.

Day 5 – Sighișoara, Biertan and Sibiu

After breakfast, we will travel deeper into Transylvania toward Sighișoara, one of Europe’s best-preserved inhabited medieval citadels. Our guided tour will include: The Clock Tower, The Citadel Square, The colorful medieval streets, Historic guild houses, The house traditionally associated with the birth of Vlad the Impaler and Panoramic views across the rooftops of Sighișoara. There will be free time for lunch in the historic center. We will then continue to the Saxon village of Biertan, known for its imposing fortified church and beautiful rural surroundings. The village offers another fascinating perspective on the history and culture of Transylvania’s Saxon population. In the late afternoon, we will travel to Sibiu, one of Romania’s most elegant and culturally important cities.

Day 6 – Alba Iulia and the Historic Center of Sibiu

After breakfast, we will travel to Alba Iulia, a city of exceptional importance in Romanian history. Our visit will focus on the impressive Alba Carolina Citadel, the largest and most beautiful star-shaped fortifications in Eastern Europe. The tour will include: The monumental gates of the citadel, The Roman Catholic Cathedral, The Orthodox Coronation Cathedral, Union Hall, The historic palaces and public squares, The defensive walls and bastions. There will be time to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the citadel and stop for coffee before returning to Sibiu. In the afternoon, we will explore Sibiu’s historic center on foot - The Grand Square, The Small Square, The Bridge of Lies, The Council Tower, The Evangelical Cathedral, The distinctive houses with “eyes” in their rooftops and Nicolae Bălcescu pedestrian street. Following the guided tour, guests will have free time to explore Sibiu’s shops, cafés and charming pedestrian center.

Day 7 – The Transfăgărășan Highway, Bâlea Lake and Vidraru Dam

experience one of the most spectacular mountain journeys in Europe. We will depart Sibiu in the morning and travel toward the Făgăraș Mountains. The journey will take us past mountain forests, waterfalls, dramatic valleys and the highway’s famous series of curves. At an elevation of more than 2,000 meters, we will reach Bâlea Lake, where guests will have time to admire the alpine scenery, take a short walk and enjoy lunch. We will then pass through the Capra Tunnel and descend along the southern side of the Făgăraș Mountains toward Lake Vidraru and the monumental Vidraru Dam. Wild brown bears are sometimes visible in this region. After visiting Vidraru, we will return north along the mountain road and descend toward the Albota area. Farm-to-Table Dinner in Albota. In the evening, we will enjoy a special farm-to-table dinner featuring fresh trout and regional products prepared using ingredients from the surrounding farms.

Day 8 – Făgăraș Fortress and Return to Brașov

Following breakfast, we will travel to the town of Făgăraș and visit its impressive medieval fortress, surrounded by a water-filled defensive moat. The fortress played an important role in the history of Transylvania and remains one of the region’s most imposing fortified complexes. The afternoon in Brasov will be free for individual activities, relaxation and shopping. Guests may choose to: Explore the pedestrian center, Visit local cafés and shops, Return independently to the Black Church, Take the cable car to Mount Tâmpa, Relax at the hotel.

Day 9 – Slănic Prahova Salt Mine and Bucharest

After breakfast, we will leave Brașov and travel south toward Slănic Prahova. Here, we will descend into the extraordinary Unirea Salt Mine, located more than 200 meters below ground. The enormous underground chambers, carved directly into the salt, create one of Romania’s most unusual visitor experiences. The mine is also known for its stable underground temperature and distinctive microclimate. After the visit and time for a light lunch, we will continue to Bucharest. Upon arrival in the Romanian capital, guests will check in and have time to rest.

Day 10 – The Highlights of Bucharest and a Folklore Evening

Today is dedicated to discovering Bucharest, a city shaped by royal elegance, French-inspired architecture, communist-era transformations and a vibrant modern culture. Our panoramic and walking tour will include: The Palace of Parliament, Constitution Square, SquareRevolution, The Romanian Athenaeum, The former Royal Palace, Victory Avenue, The Arch of Triumph, Charles de Gaulle Square , Kiseleff Boulevard, The Village Museum and Herăstrău Park. -- In the evening, we will travel to the historic center of Bucharest for a farewell dinner at the famous Caru’ cu Bere restaurant. Located in one of the city’s most beautiful historic buildings, the restaurant offers traditional Romanian cuisine accompanied by live music and Romanian folk dances. This festive evening will provide a memorable conclusion to our journey through Romania.

Day 11 – Bucharest Old Town and Departure

After breakfast, we will enjoy a final exploration of Bucharest, depending on the group’s flight schedule.

Free time for coffee and last-minute shopping

If the departure flight is scheduled for the evening, an additional visit or farewell lunch may be arranged. At the appropriate time, the group will be transferred to Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport for the return flight home.
